Overview
Transport of dangerous goods by sea is regulated in order to prevent injury to persons or damage to ships and their cargos. Transport of marine pollutants is primarily regulated to prevent harm to the marine environment. The objective of the IMDG Code is to enhance the safe transport of dangerous goods while facilitating the free unrestricted movement of such goods. The course aims to impart knowledge and applications skills in IMDG Code.
Dangerous goods training for shored-based personnel became mandatory from 1 January 2010. Central to the latest Amendment is the “appropriate training for shore-based staff involved in the handling, packing, transporting, storage etc. of dangerous goods, which may be audited by the competent authority (MPA, Singapore). Persons not yet trained or certified competent may only operate under the direct supervision of a competently trained person.

Validity of Certificate : IMDG Code Amendment Cycle 2017-2026
