Board of Directors
The Board of Directors establish the policies, rules, and regulations deemed necessary to ensure the viability of The Logistics Academy and to attain the goals set forth in the vision and mission statements.
Mr Dave Ng
Mr Dave Ng is the Chairman of Singapore Logistics Association. He graduated with a Bachelor of Commerce in International Supply Chain Management and holds a Diploma in Computer Studies and Business. He is the Chief Executive Officer, Bok Seng Logistics Pte Ltd and also the Bok Seng Group Chief Executive Officer. Concurrently, he also holds the appointment of Director in Bok Seng PPSEZ Dry Port Co Ltd, Bok Seng Heavy Equipment Sdn Bhd, PT Bok Seng Investment Indonesia, and Marinteknik Shipbuilders (S) Pte Ltd.
As part of his contribution to the industry, he is the Council Committee Member for Workplace Safety & Health Council (Logistics & Transport). He also assists as a Committee Member for Bukit View Primary School Advisory as well as an Advisory Committee Member for Centre of Innovation for Supply Chain Management, Republic Polytechnic. He was the Past Chairman for the Singapore Transport Association.
Mr Stanley Lim
Mr Stanley Lim is currently the Council Member of the Singapore Logistics Association (SLA) and he chairs the Internationalisation Committee . He has been serving in various positions in the Association. He was the SLA Chairman from 1992 to 2006 and is the longest serving Council Member of the Association. He has been involved and contributed to FIATA, International Federation of Freight Forwarders Associations since 1991. He served as Chairman of Congress Committee and was elected to into the Presidency as Senior Vice President (2001-2007) and Treasurer (2007-2011). At the FIATA World Congress in Cairo, he was elected as the President for the Term 2011-2013. After he relinquished his Presidency in 2013, he is member of the FIATA Extended Board and the FIATA Foundation. He is re-elected as Chair of the FIATA World Congress Committee (2019-2021).
Mr Thomas Sim
Mr Thomas Sim is the Group Chief Executive Officer of International Freight Consultants (S) Pte. Ltd. (a member of ‘The Topocean Group’). He joined the Singapore Logistics Association since 2000 and is currently Council Member of the Singapore Logistics Association. In addition, he also chairs its Human Capital Development Committee and the Academic Director of The Logistics Academy
He is currently the FIATA Senior Vice-President. He was the Chairman of FIATA Advisory Body Vocational Training (ABVT) which oversees National Associations’ training programs in over 118 countries, assisting to setup and qualifying the standards of international freight forwarding & logistics training materials/curriculums, and the eventual FIATA Validation of their national training programs. He was chairman of the Working Group on Education & Training under that ASEAN Federation of Freight Forwarders Associations (AFFA).
Mr Max Ee
Mr Max Ee is Deputy Chairman of SLA Human Capital Development Committee and serves as the Course Convener for Continuous Learning Program. He is a transport and logistics practitioner and advisor, having more than 20 years of operational experience. He holds a Bachelors in Business Administration (B.B.A. Honours) from the National University of Singapore, and a Masters of Science in Logistics from the Nanyang Technological University. In addition he also attained the Graduate Diploma in Systems Analysis from the Institute of Systems Science. Max is the Founder and Principal Consultant of SCMi Group LLP, a boutique supply chain management and logistics consulting and training firm incorporated in Singapore.
Ms Ng Soo Hwa
Ms Ng Soo Hwa joined the Singapore Logistics Association in July 1989 as Manager before becoming Executive Director on 1 February 2001. She heads the secretariat and is responsible for the team that manages the membership and execute the strategic plans of the Association.
She represents the Association as a Board Member of The Logistics Academy since its incorporation on 25 February 2010.
Ms Ng started her career in the public sector with the Ministry of Trade & Industry. She graduated with a Bachelor of Arts & Social Science, majoring in Economics and Statistics from the National University of Singapore and a Diploma (Merit Award) in Management Accounting & Finance from the National Productivity Board (now known as SPRING Singapore). She is a member of The Singapore Association of The Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators.
