Mr Tan Tee Hwa, Senior Manager of Pacorini Global Services (Asia) Pte Ltd specialising in coffee and non-ferrous metals for LIFFE and LME markets, has been involved in training of logisticians for the Singapore Logistics Association (SLA) for the Diploma in International Freight Management and Advanced Diploma in International Transport Management in the last last 30 years.
He has more than 20 years’ experience in the shipping industry including operational, commercial and planning responsibilities i.e. worked for the PSA (8 years), NOL (2 years), Singapore Shipping Corporation (7years), Ship-owner’s Representative (6 years), and 5 years’ experience in warehousing and logistics business with C. Steinweg Warehousing dealing with the non-ferrous industry and was involved in setting up their representative offices in the Far East.He was a member of Curriculum Committee, Institute of Technical Education on Integrated Logistics Management Course, a lecturer in Institute of Technical Education in the Integrated Logistics Management Programme, director of Active Logistics Pte Ltd engaged in chartering vessels to carry palletized rubber and IBCs on voyage charters from Indonesia to USA, director of CTS Resources Pte Ltd engaged in sourcing of equipment and materials for Australian Gold Mine company, and a main contributor to the Practitioner’s Definitive Guide on Seafreight Forwarding published by the SLA.
