Are you facing limitations in using MS Excel? MS Excel is commonly used in companies. However, many users may be unfamiliar with the variety of tools and techniques to maximize their productivity. Whether it is designing an inventory report, evaluating suppliers or analysing cost, MS Excel is a must-have solution.

This workshop is specially designed for professionals working in the transport and logistics industry. It is an interactive workshop in a computer laboratory where each student uses a desktop with pre-installed program and exercises to facilitate hands-on learning.

The course contents are developed by logistician using real-life examples and case studies. Participants can apply the new skills immediately through the sample exercises. This course thus provides dual benefits – participants can learn new MS Excel skills directly applicable to overcome common issues faced in the workplace.

Note : This is an intermediate level course. Participants are expected to have basic knowledge of MS Office Excel and have used the solution for at least a year. This is not an introductory course on MS Excel. The version used will be MS Office Excel 2013.

Max Ee

Max Ee is a logistics and transport specialist with extensive experience in the private sector and working with the public sector. Graduated with a Bachelor of Business Administration (Honours) from the National University of Singapore (NUS), Max also has a Masters in Science (Logistics) from Nanyang Technological University (NTU) as well as a Graduate Diploma in Systems Analysis from the Institute of Systems Science (ISS). Previously he worked in Agility Logistics as a project manager, and handles logistics operations for Fuji Xerox Asia Pacific, KFC Singapore and Kao Corporation.


Stefan Tan is a Supply Chain professional and practitioner with extensive experiences in End to End Supply Chain, Operations and Supply Management. His experience hails from his career at senior management level at MNC, SME and Non-Profit organisation with industries ranging from Electronic, Chemical, Healthcare, and Offshore & Marine including Oil & Gas industries.

He has developed business analytic system for Supply Chain, Order management, On-Time Delivery and Inventory Control system using  combination of Excel, MS Access and other IT tools to leverage data from IT and ERP systems.

Stefan is an ardent and enthusiastic user of MS Excel not only to simplify reporting for KPI but also as a tool for problem solving, decision making and cost optimization. He has also created various MS Excel tools that linked with ERP to create What-If scenario to solve problem and provide optimum solution.


A 30-minute open-book assessment will be conducted at the end of the seminar to ensure participants’ understanding on the topics. A Certificate of Achievement will be awarded upon successful completion of the assessment and attainment of 75% attendance.

Section 3 : Creating Visual Displays

  • Developing Charts
  • Adding Controls
  • Customizing Charts
  • Using Sparklines

Section 4 : Analyzing Data Effectively

  • Using Pivot Tables and Pivot Charts
  • Finding Optimal Solution through Solver
  • Study Relationship by Applying Regression

Section 5 : Automation Techniques

  • Applying Macros

This is a hands-on course where participants will have intensive practical session using MS Excel.
